World Cup – The Richest Horse Race in the World!

I’ve always wanted to see a big horse race and this Saturday my dream came true when my friend Carrie asked me to join her at the worlds biggest horse race, the Dubai World Cup – The Richest Horse Race in the World! We were lucky to have vvip tickets so we could watch the race from the grandstand or beside the track. I think it’s needless to say that we were standing next to the horses at the finish line most of the time?
When Japan won the final race everyone at the grandstand were cheering and shouting of happiness and when the owner threw herself in the arms of sheik Mohammed and cried tears of joy I think everyone had tears in their eyes. Fans of the jockey Victoire Pisa were crying as the national anthem played. Many of the Japanese teams wore black polo shirts with the word “hope” on the sleeve alongside Japan’s flag. On the back was the March 11 date of the earthquake and tsunami. Let’s hope this victory brings hope to the people in Japan, as Victory Pisa’s trainer Katsuhiko Sumii said after the win.

  1. I am SO jealous! I have never been to a horse race either so super jealous about that and secondly because you’re in dubai and it looks warm. SIgh, I guess Canada will have to wait for summer. Glad you had a nice time! x
